facebookAs Facebook aims to continuously improve their website the company has announced that they are currently conducting new tests.

On Monday, Facebook shared that they are testing a news feed feature for its users that would see their feed separated into two; with one section focusing on the users personal news (Photos, friends) while the other displays business posts (advertisements, celebrity material).

The test is currently being conducted in Bolivia, Cambodia, Guatemala, Serbia, Slovakia and Sri Lanka.

“The goal of this test is to understand if people prefer to have separate places for personal and public content. We will hear what people say about the experience to understand if it’s an idea worth pursuing any further,” said Adam Mosseri, Facebook executive in charge of the news feed.

“There is no current plan to roll this out beyond these test countries or to charge pages on Facebook to pay for all their distribution in News Feed or Explore.”

This comes at a time when the company is looking to crackdown on fake news stories which have become fairly rampant on Facebook.

The new News Feed could prompt page admins, musicians and sports teams to pay for adverts they wish to be seen.
