Génesis Rodríguez Pérez, born on July 29, 1987, in Miami, Florida, is an accomplished American actress known for her work in both Spanish-language telenovelas and English-language films and television series.
She is the daughter of the renowned Venezuelan singer and actor José Luis Rodríguez, famously nicknamed “El Puma,” and Cuban model Carolina Pérez.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Rodríguez grew up in a showbiz family, which influenced her early entry into the entertainment industry.

Siblings
Génesis has two half-sisters from her father’s previous marriage to Venezuelan actress and singer Lila Morillo.

Career
Rodríguez began her acting career in 2004 with a leading role in the Telemundo telenovela Prisionera, where she portrayed the daughter of a wrongfully imprisoned woman.
She continued to build her reputation in Spanish-language television with starring roles in Dame Chocolate in 2007, playing a naïve chocolatier, and Doña Bárbara from 2008 to 2009, as the loyal daughter of the titular character.
Transitioning to English-language projects, she appeared on the soap opera Days of Our Lives as Becky Ferrer and had recurring spots on the HBO series Entourage.
Her feature film debut came in 2012 with Man on a Ledge, followed by comedic turns in Casa de mi Padre opposite Will Ferrell and What to Expect When You’re Expecting alongside Anna Kendrick.
In 2013, she featured in action films like The Last Stand with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Identity Thief with Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy.
Rodríguez expanded her range with roles in Tusk in 2014 and voiced the character Honey Lemon in the animated hit Big Hero 6 that same year.
