RCS is a popular financial services provider in South Africa that offers store cards, personal loans, and insurance products. If you use an RCS Store Card, it’s important to keep track of your available balance, outstanding amount, and payment due dates. Fortunately, RCS provides several convenient ways for customers to check their balances — online, via SMS, through the RCS App, or by calling customer care. Here’s how to check your RCS balance quickly and easily.

    1. Check RCS Balance via SMS

The simplest way to check your RCS balance is by sending an SMS. This method is fast and works on any mobile phone.

    1. Open the SMS app on your phone.
    2. Type your RCS card number or ID number.
    3. Send the SMS to 47678.
    4. You will receive a reply showing your current balance, available credit, and minimum amount due.

This service works 24 hours a day and gives you instant access to your account information. Standard SMS charges apply depending on your mobile network.

    1. Check RCS Balance Online

You can also check your balance through the official RCS Self-Service Portal on their website. This method allows you to view more detailed account information, including payment history and transaction details.

    1. Go to the RCS website at https://www.rcs.co.za.
    2. Click on “Self-Service” or “Login.”
    3. Enter your username and password to sign in. If you don’t have an account, click “Register” to create one using your ID number, card number, and email address.
    4. Once logged in, you can check your balance, available credit, payment due date, and minimum payment amount.

This option is ideal for those who want to manage their accounts, make payments online, or update personal details.

For smartphone users, the RCS Mobile App is one of the most convenient ways to manage your account on the go. The app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

    1. Download and install the RCS App.
    2. Open the app and log in using your registered account details.
    3. Your account balance, credit limit, and recent transactions will appear on the dashboard.

The app also allows you to make payments, check your statement, and contact customer service directly.

    1. Check RCS Balance via Phone Call

If you prefer speaking to a representative, you can call the RCS Customer Care Centre for assistance.

    • Customer Care Number: 0861 729 727
    • Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

When you call, have your RCS card number or ID number ready for quick verification. The consultant will then give you your balance details and any other account information you may need.

    1. Check RCS Balance via Email

You can also request your account balance by emailing RCS. This method is useful if you want written confirmation or a copy of your latest statement.

    • Email: customer.services@rcs.co.za
    • Include your full name, ID number, and RCS card number in your message.

You should receive a response within a few working days with your balance and account summary.

    1. Check Your Monthly Statement

Every month, RCS sends customers a monthly statement by email or SMS. This statement contains your outstanding balance, available credit, payment due date, and minimum payment. Make sure you check your messages or inbox regularly and keep these statements for your financial records.
