    I am ready, Matiangi declares bid for top job in 2027

    Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi Friday officially confirmed his intention to vie for president, bringing to rest the anxiety that has gripping the nation for months.

    He said he was ready to heed to the voice of the majority Kenyans wanting him to president and steer the country in the right political direction.

    “I have heard you,am back at home and would not let you down,” he spoke in Kisii late Friday.

    Similar pronouncements were made in Kijauri, Keroka and Keumbu during a flurry of stop overs.

    The former powerful CS set off his first ‘meet the people tours at his his Simbauti residence, his motorcade snaking out of of the compound at 10 in the morning to ecstatic and rousing welcome to thousands who turned up at various stop overs.

    At Keroka, jubilation rent the air as Matiangi assured the residents that he has returned to heed the clarion call of the Kenyans.

    “I have received numerous exhortations from various people,some the clergy, encouraging me to seize the moment and right things,” he stated.

    Matiangi was accompanied by dozens of leaders among them Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo, Simba Arati Senators Richard Onyonka , MPs Daniel Manduku, Clive Gisairo and several ward Reps.

    In Kisii, Matiangi briefly paid County Governor Simba Arati a courtesy call in his office before heading out to the Capital Roundabout.

    And speaking at Gusii Stadium where thousands turned up, Matiangi said he was alive to the challenges facing the country.

    “Yes the painful reality is that the country is going through a difficult phase and we should be ready to sort it out as nation,” stated Matiangi.

    He accused the government of lethargy in improving the cost of living.

    He encouraged them not to lose hope adding that his venturing into the race for presidency is a silver lining.

    “I know you’re hurting but we shall sort this out,” he said.

    Governor Nyaribo said it was now all systems go as Matiangi has now made bid his open

    Nyamoko said the destiny of Matiangi now lies in the hands of majority Kenyans.

    He urged the youth to get IDs with view to securing voter cards.

    “We have the numbers but still not enough,tell our youth to get ID cards in readiness for the election cards,” he stated.

    Other leaders who were present were Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba,MPs Obadiah Barongo, former Bomachoge MP Zadock Ogutu.
