Round two of presidential election will be held on 17 October 2017, IEBC has said.
According to the electoral body, only Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto will be on the ballot. This therefore means that there will be no fresh party nominations as is norm before elections.
The commission also asked the Supreme Court judges to speedily make available the full judgement so as to identify areas that require improvement in the management of the fresh elections.
The SCORK judges led by Chief Justice David Maraga nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta’s August 8 win and ordered fresh polls within 60 days.
President Kenyatta has expressed confidence in a round two win while the NASA camp has called for the disbandment of the body.
