Former nominated senator Paul Njoroge has alluded tha Deputy President William Ruto is grooming Kirinyanga Governor Anne Waiguru to deputize him when he goes for the top seat in 2022.
He said that Ruto was using his cronies like Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki to make it compulsory for a Presidential candidate to choose a female running mate so as to pave way for a Ruto -Waiguru candidature.
Members belonging to the Jubilee party have also dismissed claims of trouble within the party. They said that the alleged split in camps was a creation of the media and that the narrative was being pushed by outside party.
Kirinyaga woman representative Purity Ngirici who is the biggest critic of the her governor Waiguru dispelled rumors that the Deputy president had sent some leaders from Rift Valley like Oscar Sudi to speak as they have been doing against President Uhuru Kenyatta. She termed the DP as a respectable man incapable of sending people to utter those ‘disrespectful remarks’
Those who speak ill of the president in the media at funerals, wedings and other public functions are not speaking on behalf of the DP. Everyone should be held responsible individually for what they say in public or private,” Ngirici said.
The bond between Ruto and Waiguru has in the recent past has seen Ruto traverse through the county on several occasions.

The latter has even stated during a TV interview that she would deputize Dr. Ruto if given the opportunity to do so in 2022. The Deputy president has also floated that he would consider having a female running mate.
“I think the Deputy President is a very intelligent man, extremely intelligent. This country would not have better leaders in President Uhuru and his deputy and I’m privileged and honored to be in that party,” she said
