This month Kenyans will have to brave tough times as the price of fuel goes up. The price of super petrol has gone up by 34 cents while that of diesel and kerosene went up by 78 cents and Sh1.50 per litre.

Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) attributed the raise on the average landed cost of super petrol which increased by 1.18 per cent while diesel increased by 2.91 per cent and kerosene by 3.06 per cent.

“The purpose of the fuel pricing regulations is to cap the pump prices of the products which are already in the country so that the importation and other prudently incurred costs are recovered, while ensuring reasonable prices to consumers,” Robert Oimeke said.

For Mombasa a litre of super petrol will cost Sh.103.88, diesel will cost Sh.95.35 and kerosene will cost Sh78.22 for the next one month.

Kisumu motorists will incur the most with Sh109.11 per litre for super petrol, Sh100.79 for diesel and Sh.80.12 for kerosene.
