Police are investigating an incident where a 29-year-old man was found dead at a home after a domestic dispute with his former wife in Kagumo, Kirinyaga County.
According to the police, Dennis Muriithi had traveled to the Kamuiru village to talk to his estranged wife at her home on Sunday March 1, 2026 when the incident happened.
Witnesses said he held talks with the former wife and her mother in efforts to solve their differences in vain. The witnesses claimed he stabbed himself in the chest using a kitchen knife and died on the spot.
Police were called to the scene and announced they were investigating murder in the issue. Police said the deceased had two stab wounds on the chest which had been caused by a kitchen knife.
The scene was documented and the exhibit (knife) collected as the body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.
In Suba, Homa Bay County, a woman was found murdered in a rented house in Nyandiwa area.
Police identified her as Mary Mwenesi Olilo, 43, adding she was half naked when the body was found.
The body was decomposing when it was discovered on Sunday morning indicating it had been there for some days.
Police said they suspected the woman was killed by her boyfriend who had not been seen since February 27, 2026.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Lumakanda, Kakamega County, a body of a man was found on the roadside on the Lumakanda-Soweto Road after a suspected murder.
It was later identified to be of Zedekiah Onjero, 43 and had a deep cut on the left side of the head.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Police said on Monday no arrest had been made and the motive was yet to be known.
Elsewhere in Tabaka, Kisii County, one Ben Mauti, 69 was found dead on a footpath. Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
