    Morissette, whose full name is Johanne Morissette Daug Amon, is a highly acclaimed Filipino singer and songwriter born on June 2, 1996, in Minglanilla, Cebu, Philippines.

    Widely recognized by her stage name Morissette Amon and nicknamed “Asia’s Phoenix” for her powerful, soaring vocals and remarkable vocal resilience, she has established herself as one of the most prominent talents in contemporary Philippine music.

    Her unique name reflects her father’s musical influences: “Johanne” derives from composer Johann Sebastian Bach, while “Morissette” honors his favorite artist, Alanis Morissette.

    She is celebrated for her versatile performances across pop, ballads, and high-range covers, often delivering emotionally charged renditions that showcase her four-octave range.

    Morissette is the oldest child in her family and has one younger sibling, a brother named Jeremy Mattheu Amon.

    She comes from a musically inclined household, with her father, Amay Amon, being a rock musician and her mother, Analie Daug, supporting the family’s artistic environment.

    Career

    Morissette began performing as a child and gained national attention in 2013 when she finished as runner-up on the TV5 singing competition Star Factor.

    This exposure led to her signing with a major network and launching her professional career under ABS-CBN.

    She released her debut album and built momentum through live performances, including iconic Wish 107.5 Bus sessions that went viral for her stunning covers of songs like “Never Enough” and “Rise Up.”

    Over the years, she has starred in television shows, acted in projects, and headlined major concerts, including a successful solo show at the Araneta Coliseum.

    In 2021, she married Dave Lamar, and her career expanded internationally, earning her recognition across Asia.

    More recently, in 2025, she ventured into film by starring in the musical Song of the Fireflies, showcasing her acting alongside her singing.

    Morissette has won two Awit Awards, one Aliw Award, and six PMPC Star Awards for Music.

    She holds the record for the most Wish 107.5 Music Awards with 38 wins, far surpassing other artists and highlighting her popularity through digital and live platforms.

    Early in her career, she received the Best New Female Recording Artist at the PMPC Star Awards for Music and Best New Artist at the MOR Pinoy Music Awards.

    Her acting debut in Song of the Fireflies earned her Best Actress at the 2nd Manila International Film Festival in 2025, along with a nomination at the 58th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

    Additional honors include multiple Asian Academy Creative Awards, Muse Creative Awards, and recognition from the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, cementing her status as a multifaceted entertainer with global reach.
