Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria will vie for the presidency come 2022, he has declared.
Speaking to Capital FM on Monday, the controversial legislator noted that his name will be on the ballot in 2022.
He further stated that his aim will be to remedy those problems that ail the common Kenyan.
“If even if you look at the issues affecting this nation like those of the youth unemployment, use of SME, they do not know tribe. The same hunger that is biting people in Gatundu is the same one that is biting someone else in Mombasa, Kisumu or wherever there is,” Kuria said.
The lawmaker also maintained that contrary to popular opinion, he is not tribal, accusing his opponents of painting him as a “tribalist, thief and corrupt.”
“I think their symbol needs to be a brush. When you join them, they paint you white when you leave them they paint you black. I am not a tribalist,” he maintained.
His symbol, the vocal MP said, will be a spanner.
Asked about his relationship with the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Kuria said that they are indeed good friends who sometimes don’t see eye to eye.

“Raila is my great buddy. I like the guy and I think the Right Honorable likes me as well. You only need to be where we both are, and you will have the time of your life. Not all the time we agree but there are times we have agreed in the past,” he said.
The MP is one of Deputy President William Ruto’s ally from the Mt Kenya region and is one of the legislators calling for a referendum that will see the number of elective posts reduced.
