Moses Kuria has officially tendered his resignation from the government after serving in various senior roles under President William Ruto’s administration.

In a statement shared on social media, Kuria announced that President Ruto had “graciously accepted” his decision to step down.

Kuria expressed his gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve in multiple capacities, including Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry (11 months), Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management (9 months), and most recently, as Senior Economic Advisor (10 months).

“As I move on to pursue personal interests, I am proud of the work the President and I did to implement the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” he stated, adding that the agenda was jointly crafted with President Ruto as part of their 2022 electoral platform.

Kuria concluded his statement with a patriotic message: “Long live Kenya.”

Prior to his roles in the executive, Kuria served as the Member of Parliament for Gatundu South from 2014 to 2022.

During his eight-year tenure, he was known for his outspoken style and active participation in national politics.

In the 2022 general elections, Kuria made an ambitious bid for the Kiambu gubernatorial seat but was unsuccessful.

Following the election, he joined President Ruto’s government, contributing significantly to the design and rollout of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda — the administration’s flagship development blueprint.
