A newly elected MP representing Kitui East has surprised many by calling for the sexual abuse of Governor Charity Ngilu because she declared that she supports Raila Odinga.
According to reports appearing elsewhere, the MP said that “Charity Ngilu should be sexually assaulted in her office is she doesn’t drop her hard stance against Uhuru Kenyatta.”
The government has not shown any interest in putting the MP in custody despite the seriousness of the utterances. State machinery has however managed to mark a host of opposition supporters as hate speech suspects.
Before his election as the MP for Kitui East, Mbai was the Chief Officer in charge of Agriculture in Machakos County.
