Nigerians living in Kenya stormed the office of the Ambassador in Nairobi to protest the death of a fellow Nigerian student who they alleged died as a result of wounds inflicted by Kenyan police.

According to the foreigners the police have turned them in cash cow and arrest them without checking if they have proper documentation.

“They walk in your house and no one is spared. It does not matter whether you have genuine papers or not, they just need your money,” said a protester

They said that the said man was arrested during the weekend and sustained injuries which they believe were inflicted by the police. They stormed into the office of the ambassador seeking his audience and it took the intervention of officers from Kilimani police station to calm them down.

The man is said to have been a student at the United sates International University (USIU) but the school has since denied any association with him. According to reports foreigners usually claim that they are in Kenya as students so that the police can be lenient on them.
