The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has concluded its grassroots elections and is now set to hold Branch elections across all 290 constituencies on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

According to ODM’s Secretary for Communication and Publicity Affairs, Rahab Robi, the party began the grassroots elections on November 27, 2024, covering all polling units in the 47 counties.

“The process has largely been peaceful and successful, with a few cases of dissatisfaction by members that were handled amicably by the Election Dispute Resolution Team,” Robi stated.

On Monday, April 7, the party conducted Sub-Branch level elections across various wards in the country. Robi noted that only three wards out of 1,450 reported issues — including areas in Homa Bay County, Kibra in Nairobi, and Kaptembwa in Nakuru.

“It suffices to note that three wards out of 1,450 in the country have had reported issues,” she emphasized.

The National Election Coordinating Committee (NECC) has since begun receiving results from returning officers in the constituencies.

Robi confirmed that only the delegates elected during Monday’s exercise will be eligible to vote in Wednesday’s Branch elections.

“Deligates elected in yesterdays’s exercise will be the only ones eligible to participate in the Branch elections which are scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday April 9, 2025 in all 290 constituencies in the country.”
