Nominated senator Millicent Omanga has disclosed embarrassing meme that recently made her lose her cool.
According to Omanga, her most embarrassing moment on social media was when people drew her sitting on Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino.
“I saw people drawing me sitting on Babu Owino,” she recently revealed to a local daily.
The two politicians had a nasty confrontation online after Omanga told off Babu Owino for disrespecting Interior CS Fred Matiang’i after the hotly contested 2017 General Elections.
The senator revealed that she was very worried as a mother about how her children would perceive her if they bumped into the meme.
“It was really embarrassing and I felt so bad because I tried to imagine what if my daughter or son sees that about their mother,” said Omanga.
“You mum was on social media doing this and that. that one killed me.”
To prevent further harm to her family, Omanga had to explain to her children the drama that comes with social media and freedom of expression.
“I started pre-emptying and talking to them and explaining to them that nowadays this and that is happening on social media, indirectly so that in case they come across something because sometimes they might not tell you, they will remember mum told us this and that,” she said.
In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, the senator had vowed to deal with Owino ruthlessly if the state had failed.

She had also posted that she would circumcise the popular legislator.
The post infuriated Owino and his supporters who in retaliation attacked the senator claiming she had ‘slept her way up’ politically.
After the much hyped Uhuru-Raila handshake, the two legislators have since made peace and vowed to work together to serve the Kenyan people.
