    President Kenyatta Orders Government Procurement Heads To Step Aside

    President Kenyatta has ordered that all heads of procurement in all ministries to step aside. The position will now be filled up by their deputies.

    The heads of procurement also been ordered to submit their personal information to the head of Public service by Friday.

    The government spokesman Mwenda Njoka said that the information that was required included their assets, liabilities and previous records of service.

    “The information sought [should] include the assets they own, liabilities and previous records of service,” the statement to newsrooms said

    This comes days after president Kenyatta said that the heads of various departments in ministries would be vetted and the ones found culpable would be suspended immediately.

    About Sh. 8 billion is said to have been lost in the latest scandal by the National youth service. Senior officers within the NYS were arrested and are facing various charges including conspiracy.
