Veteran radio presenter and Swahili football commentator Diblo Kaberia has died.
Until his death on Sunday, May 24, Kaberia worked as a presenter and commentator at Radio Jambo, one of the flagship stations under Radio Africa Group.
News of his passing was confirmed by colleagues in the media industry, among them sports commentator Fred Arocho, who worked closely with him before moving to a rival station.
“My brother and former workmate Diblo Kaberia Elmago is dead. A sad day indeed,” Arocho said in a Facebook post.
Geoffrey Mwamburi of Royal Media Services also mourned Kaberia, describing him as a respected football commentator.
“Sad to have received news that Radio Jambo Football Commentator Diblo Kaberia Elmago has passed on,” Mwamburi said.
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
