    Richard Masur was born on November 20, 1948, in New York City to Claire, a high school counselor, and Jesse Masur, a pharmacist. Raised in a Jewish household, he grew up alongside his sister Judith and attended PS 28, Walt Whitman Junior High School, and Theodore Roosevelt High School.

    Masur later enrolled at Yale University, where he studied drama and began developing the foundation for his professional acting career.

    Television has played a major role in building Richard Masur net worth. He made his TV debut in 1974 with guest appearances on All in the Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Waltons. That same year, he landed a recurring role as Nick Lobo on the sitcom Rhoda.

    His first leading role followed in 1975 on the short-lived ABC series Hot l Baltimore. Masur then gained wider recognition playing attorney David Kane on CBS’s One Day at a Time, a role he later reprised in a guest capacity.

    Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Masur became a familiar face in made-for-television movies, appearing in acclaimed productions such as The Burning Bed, Adam, And the Band Played On, and The Face on the Milk Carton. He also portrayed the adult version of Stanley Uris in the 1990 television adaptation of Stephen King’s It.
