President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have made a raft of appointments to government agencies, according to a Kenya Gazette notice dated April 17, 2026.
In the changes, President Ruto appointed Godfrey Lemiso as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation. He also named Samuel Sakita Kutata as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Ewaso Ng’iro South River Basin Development Authority for a three-year term.
The Head of State further reappointed Richard Cheruiyot as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Export Processing Zones Authority for another three-year term. Adan Mohammed was also reappointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Leather Development Council for a similar period.
At the National Treasury, Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi reappointed Dr. Edward N. Kobuthi, Irene Njeri Wanyoike, Celine Anyango Orata, David J. O. Nyakang’o and Wellington Pakia Godo as members of the Privatization Commission for two years.
Mbadi also appointed Frank Mwiti, FCPA Risper Olick, Quresha Abdullahi, FCS Joshua Wambua and Lawrence Kibet to serve as members of the Search and Selection Panel for the recruitment of Independent Directors of Government-Owned Enterprises for a three-year term.
Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua appointed Isaac Kaberia and Dr. Milkah Kimonda as Trustees of the National Social Security Fund Board of Trustees for three years.
In the Ministry of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Development, Cabinet Secretary Beatrice Askul appointed Moe Caroline Pulei, Eunice Singoei, Mathew Gathua, Elijah Kesei Metian, Veronica Silantoi Mwangi, William Kenteyia and Silas Otieno Ojienda Victors as members of the Ewaso Ng’iro South River Basin Development Authority, each serving for three years.
Investments, Trade and Industry Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui reappointed Florence John, Regina Ngima Muthami, David Kipkemoi Rotich, Moses Oude Amoo and Esther Njoki Njoroge as members of the Kenya Leather Development Council for three years. He also appointed Kenneth Maina Wanjiru as a member of the same council for a similar term.
Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome reappointed Dr. Victor O. Olonde as a member of the Valuers Registration Board and appointed Rashid Haron Shake to the board, both for three-year terms.
Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Kiringa Ruku appointed Dr. Eldah Onsomu as a member of the Kenya School of Government Council for three years.
In the sports sector, Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya appointed Antony Emmanuel Inzahuli Lung’aho as Head of the Secretariat for the PAMOJA AFCON 2027 Local Organising Committee, effective March 27, 2026.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba also made several appointments in the education sector. He reappointed Dr. Bishop Paul K. Korir as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kitale National Polytechnic Council, alongside members Salina Cheruiyot, Harrison Tanga Webbo, Isaac Mudogo Shaviya and Jane Ahuru Ajele for three years.
Ogamba further reappointed Anthony Njagi Getambu as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Meru National Polytechnic Council, with Suleyman Boru Dida and Jenu John as members, all for three years.
At the Kenya Coast National Polytechnic Council, Patricia Mwaka Mbogoh was reappointed Non-Executive Chairperson, with Luciana Sanzua, Peter Munyao Kimilu, Nuru Bwanakombo, Albert Kagwa and Shukri Barmadi as members for a three-year term.
In Nyeri, David Kanyoi Gachuru was reappointed Non-Executive Chairperson of the National Polytechnic Council, alongside Lucy Waruguru Mwai and John Suge as members. Edina Nyaboke Kangwana was newly appointed to the council, with all appointments running for three years.
