Jubilee-nominated MP Sabina Chege claims she was offered the Nairobi deputy gubernatorial position during the 2022 polls.
The deputy minority whip in the National Assembly told Inooro TV that she made numerous sacrifices for the former ruling party during the electioneering period.
The seat was, however, handed to Wiper’s Phillip Kaloki who ran alongside Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee.
According to the former Murang’a Woman Representative, she rejected the offer to campaign for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

“I had an offer to be Nairobi Deputy Governor but I left that to ensure that our leader (Uhuru) would finish his tenure properly and did not exit in shame,” Sabina said.
On matters Jubilee, which is currently split right down the middle, Sabina urged its party leader, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to hold a meeting with the members.
She asked Uhuru to hold talks with party members now that they are under attack by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), an affiliate member of Azimio.
Sabina said ODM has been mistreating the former ruling party. She cited the recent changes in the Senate where ODM replaced Isiolo Senator Fatuma Dullo as the minority whip.
Ms Dullo was replaced by Narok’s Ledama Olekina who is being deputized by yet another member of the Orange outfit, Edwin Sifuna.

The legislator also alleged that Jubilee was shortchanged when leadership roles were being shared out. Jubilee, she said, was supposed to be handed the deputy minority leader in the National Assembly as well as a seat on the powerful Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).
She urged Uhuru to preach peace at home as she maintained that she will not participate in the anti-government rallies.
The opposition has been holding anti-Ruto rallies across the country since December last year.
The lawmaker also asked that the opposition respects President William Ruto as the 2027 elections are way off.
