    Seven Seas Technologies Wins Key Ethiopia’s Bank of Abyssinya Deal

    Local Information technology solutions provider Seven Seas Technologies (SST) has emerged the winner in a contested deal to kit Ethiopia’s largest bank, Bank of Abyssinia (BoA),  data center.

    The deal is valued at more than US$700,000 and is part of BoA’s corporate goals to expand and modernize its operations. Some of the solutions and services to be undertaken by SST include the design, installation and commissioning of an ultra-modern data center at the Bank of Abyssinia headquarters in Addis Ababa.

    Speaking during a signing ceremony for the deal in Addis Ababa, Bank of Abyssinia President Addisu Habba disclosed that SST’s solutions are set to lay the foundation for the integration of a core banking system to be installed by the bank in coming months.

    SST Founder and Chief Executive Officer Michael Macharia explained that the firm is gearing up to rollout and commission the Bank Of Abyssinia project in the next 3 months. Seven Seas Technologies Data Centre and Application Infrastructure (DCAI) division, Macharia explained, will focus its energies on automating Bank of Abyssinia Data Centre processes by implementing internationally recognized best practices.

    In Ethiopia, SST has previously landed multi-million deals to provide Information Technology solutions to Awash Industrial Bank and Dashen Banks in Addis Ababa.

    At Awash Industrial Bank, SST key in the design and deployment of solution providing inter-branch communication and connectivity to the banking applications at the headquarters and across its branch network in Ethiopia
