    Steve Higgins was born on August 13, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa, to parents Marian and Harold Higgins. He grew up as one of five children in a family with a strong interest in comedy and performance.

    As a young adult, Higgins formed a comedy troupe called Don’t Quit Your Day Job with his brothers David and Alan Higgins and friend Dave Allen. The group performed regularly at local Iowa venues, including the Spaghetti Works and Hotel Kirkwood, helping Higgins develop his comedic voice.

    In the late 1980s, Higgins and his comedy partners relocated to Los Angeles, where their work quickly gained national attention. The group landed its own sketch comedy series on Comedy Central titled “The Higgins Boys and Gruber,” which aired from 1989 to 1991.
