    ‘Traders of Africa’ Portal to Go Live in September to Promote intra-Africa Trade

    Kenya is to see a launch of an online portal which is set to help drive the trade within Africa.

    The platform called Traders of Africa (TOFA) (www.tradersofafrica.com) already has its presence in Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda and Ghana, is mainly focused on developing an online marketplace for the trading of goods and services within Africa.

    The portal was founded by Uju Uzo-Ojinnaka, a former banker, manufacturer and construction service provider.

    The firm has already engaged 9000 merchants spread across the continent with plans in place to launch in Ghana in a few days. Kenya will be the fourth marketplace. The firm plans to get to the 54 African countries in the continent. In 6 months, the firm plans to expand to Mali, Zambia, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Tanzania.

    The firm has partnered with Ecobank, who will provide Escrow for deal settlements.

     

    Some of the the products and services which the online platform deals in are Agriculture, Construction, Wood & Furniture, Food, Beverages, Leather, Textile and Minerals.

    Trading on the marketplace will start on September 1, 2017.
