The White House submitted a sweeping list of nominations to the United States Senate for confirmation, filling key diplomatic, judicial, health, and law enforcement positions across the federal government.

Among the most notable appointments is the nomination of veteran diplomat Henry Wooster to serve as the next United States Ambassador to Kenya.

Wooster, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service holding the rank of Minister-Counselor, would represent Washington in Nairobi pending Senate approval.

The nominations cover more than three dozen positions, including ambassadors to strategically important countries across Africa, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Other ambassadorial nominees include Daniel Perez for Brazil, Nick Oberheiden for Egypt, Nathaniel Morris for Colombia, Peter Snyder for Ecuador, Michael Young for Serbia, and Daniel Travis for Sierra Leone. Additional nominees were selected for diplomatic postings in El Salvador, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Equatorial Guinea, Moldova, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Trinidad and Tobago, Paraguay, Montenegro, Lithuania, and The Gambia.

The administration also nominated Carl Anderson to serve as Inspector General of the Department of State, while Ge Bai was tapped for a senior position at the Department of Health and Human Services. Former ambassador Donald Blome was nominated to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs.

In the health sector, Johnny Figueroa was nominated for dual roles as Ambassador-at-Large for Global Health Security and Diplomacy and as Coordinator of United States Government Activities to Combat HIV/AIDS Globally.

The White House further submitted nominations for several federal commissions, including the United States International Trade Commission and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, as well as appointments for U.S. Attorneys and U.S. Marshals in multiple states.

Meanwhile, the administration formally withdrew the nomination of Paul Ferguson to serve as United States Marshal for the Northern District of West Virginia.

All nominees must undergo Senate review and confirmation before assuming their respective positions.

The nominations signal the administration’s continued effort to fill critical diplomatic and government posts as it advances its foreign policy and domestic governance agenda.
