    Ty Simpkins, born on August 6, 2001, in New York City, is an American actor who has carved a notable path in Hollywood from an extraordinarily young age.

    Raised by parents Monique and Stephen Simpkins, Ty began his acting career at just three weeks old, making his television debut on the soap opera One Life to Live.

    His early start in the entertainment industry set the stage for a prolific career, with roles in major blockbusters and critically acclaimed films.

    Known for his versatility, Ty has portrayed characters ranging from a haunted child in horror films to a young sidekick in superhero epics.

    Ty has two older siblings, Ryan Simpkins and David Simpkins, with Ryan also being a well-known actor in the entertainment industry.

    Ryan Simpkins, born on March 25, 1998, is non-binary and uses they/she pronouns as of July 2022.

    Like Ty, Ryan began acting at a young age, making their film debut in Sherrybaby (2006) opposite Maggie Gyllenhaal.

    They appeared together in Pride and Glory (2008) as the children of Colin Farrell’s character, in Revolutionary Road (2008) as the children of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s characters, and in Arcadia (2012), a coming-of-age drama.

    Ryan has also starred in films like A Single Man (2009) and the Fear Street trilogy (2021), earning praise for their performances.

    Less is known publicly about David, who does not appear to be involved in the entertainment industry, as most sources focus on Ty and Ryan’s acting careers.

    Career

    Simpkins’ television work began with recurring roles on One Life to Live as John “Jack” Cramer Manning and Guiding Light as Jude Cooper Bauer, where he appeared in 47 episodes from 2001 to 2005.

    He also made guest appearances on shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Private Practice.

    His film debut came at age four in Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds (2005), where he played a small role alongside Tom Cruise.

    This was followed by roles in Little Children (2006), where he portrayed Aaron opposite Kate Winslet, and All the King’s Men (2006), playing a young version of Jude Law’s character.

    Ty’s collaborations with his sibling Ryan in Pride and Glory and Revolutionary Road highlighted his ability to bring depth to family-oriented roles.

    Ty’s breakout roles came in the 2010s with the horror film Insidious (2011), where he played Dalton Lambert, a role he reprised in Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) and Insidious: The Red Door (2023).

    His performance in the Insidious franchise showcased his ability to convey fear and vulnerability, cementing his status as a capable young actor in the horror genre.

    In 2013, Ty gained widespread recognition for playing Harley Keener, Tony Stark’s young sidekick, in Iron Man 3, a role he reprised in a cameo during Avengers: Endgame (2019).

    His role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduced him to a global audience.

    Another major milestone was his performance as Gray Mitchell in Jurassic World (2015), a blockbuster that grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide.

    Ty also lent his voice to video games like Lego Jurassic World and Lego Marvel’s Avengers, expanding his presence in entertainment.

    More recently, he starred as Thomas in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale (2022), earning praise for his work alongside Brendan Fraser.

    In 2016, he won the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor for his role in Jurassic World, a testament to his ability to stand out in a massive production.

    Additionally, Ty received nominations for the Young Entertainer Awards and other youth-focused awards for Jurassic World, reflecting his appeal to younger audiences and industry peers alike.
