Ugandan Police have placed fiery politician Robert Kyangulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine under house arrest.

The vocal politician who is currently seen as the main opposer of current president Yoweri Museveni said that he will not be intimidated by the police.

Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was violently arrested and taken to an undisclosed location.

Police blocked him and his team as they tried to make their way into Busabala.

Here he was expected to address a presser on police brutality, injustice and abuse of authority.

“Police and the military blocked us from reaching Busabala for our press conference about police brutality, injustice and abuse of authority. A citizen cannot be allowed to access his private property. People teargassed, beaten, Many arrested. We shall overcome,” Bobi Wine wrote on Twitter.

Minutes later, he added, the military tried to break into their car. They would later clamp it, as they tried to drag the lawmaker away.

“They have been trying to break into our car. Now they are clamping it to drag us away. Stand firm. We shall overcome,” he further stated.

Police had cancelled the concert on grounds that they could not provide enough security during the Easter Monday concert.

Ironically, there is heavy police presence at the venue.

The Kyadondo East MP had insisted on holding the event as he had put too much into it, in terms of advertising and set up.
