President Uhuru Kenyatta sense of humor was not a miss during the visit of the United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May.
While trying to explain that Kenya had still maintained close ties with the UK despite the 30 year hiatus of a visit by a Prime Minister he said that he had held meetings with Boris Johnson the former Foreign Secretary but he failed to remember his surname.
He further went ahead and referred him to as the ‘bicycle guy’. This comment made the crowd burst into laughter
“Last year if you recall the Foreign Secretary then, Boris…erm…Boris…Boris Johnson…the bicycle guy was here,” Uhuru said amid laughter in the crowd.
Theresa May did not seem to take offense as she was seen laughing at President Kenyatta’s joke. The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson was known for riding his bicycle across London.
The two leaders agreed to strengthen tie between the two countries through funding and expertise.
