Vibo Africa has moved to shake up the continent with a new Pan-African initiative aiming to shine a light on Africa’s unsung heroes as well as bestow glistening rewards to the most outstanding people in the hospitality market.

It’s an earth-shattering move that has never been witnessed before in Africa, as the continent rises up to the spotlight and amass incredible recognition and remuneration as Vibo Africa continues to dominate the continent and set towering standards.

The “We The Peoples Humanity Awards” will encompass the entirety of Africa, enveloping massive sectors across Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Gambia and more.

Without necessarily relying on institutional nominations, this novel idea will allow hundreds thousands of grassroots groups to nominate themselves, breaking from tradition and bringing spectacularly brilliant results across multiple nations.

The million-dollar initiative, a brainchild of Vibo Africa, has already found immense support and backing from over 38,000 individuals with more seeking to join, engage, be part of and also participate in overwhelming numbers.

From Congo to Cameroon, Malawi to Mozambique, Vibo Africa has made incredible strides in reaching the masses, transforming lives, uplifting societies and bestowing a sense of dignity and honor amongst hundreds of thousands of disenfranchised Africans.

The ‘We The Peoples Humanity Awards’ will also seek to recognize individuals and organizations that educate, advocate, and work to eliminate discriminatory barriers while promoting dignity and equal opportunity for all.

This far-reaching idea will also explode in extensive impact across Africa, putting thousands of humanitarians on the map, lifting Kenya’s flag high and scoring the roaring support of the international community, from Europe to The United States of America.

“These awards will focus on the rapid deployment of time-bound, life-saving assistance in response to crises around Africa, honouring individuals who have made a lasting difference through compassion, service and leadership…” Vibo Africa said in a statement.

It will also span sectors and touch food, nutrition, health, shelter, and water and sanitation needs in countries with significant levels of humanitarian needs such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Nigeria, and Sudan.

The ‘We The Peoples Humanity’ Awards are the latest sign of how Vibo Africa is evolving its approach to humanitarian aid: by also dishing out large grants to a wide list of hand-picked organizations.

It’s an unprecedented initiative which follows closely in the footsteps of some of Africa’s most notable humanitarian icons including Leymah Gbowee from Liberia, Dr. Denis Mukwege from the DRC, Kenya’s Wangari Maathai, South Africa’s Dr. Imtiaz Sooliman and Graça Machel from Mozambique.

Established in honour of Dr. David Zawde (Ethiopia), the visionary founder of Africa Humanitarian Action, the prize recognises impactful solutions that advance environmental sustainability, social development, and humanitarian progress across African communities.

“Humanitarian crises on the continent frequently stem from conflict, climate-related shocks, and economic displacement. In regions like East and Southern Africa, coordinated localized interventions—such as setting up temporary camps and providing emergency food and dignity kits—are critical for survival, and we are happy to steer this movement in that direction,” Vibo Africa stated.

“It’s an award specially designed to reward innovative solutions that address some of the world’s most pressing challenges, particularly in sustainability and human welfare.”

Overall winners will receive direct, in-person introductions to Vibo Africa’s network of international donors, alongside dedicated social media amplification to boost their visibility across the continent.

All Nominees will benefit from featured mentions within relevant specialized groups on the Vibo Africa platform, connecting them with global peers, partners, and supporters, alongside ongoing access to the grants library.
