Police in Vihiga have detained a man for allegedly killing his friend over a debt of Ksh60 at Elukangu village.

According to the police, Justo Njomu owed the deceased, Jackton Masaba, Ksh60 but killed him to presumably to avoid paying the debt.

It is reported that Masaba, had earned that money through one of his casual jobs but was paid through Njumo.

Instead of delivering the money to Masaba, Njumo refused to give up the money and killed him.

His neighbors divulged to the media that the body of the deceased was found dumped near his compound with cut wounds.

The area chief Wilson Matika stated that investigations led the police officers to the accused’s house where a bloody metal blade of the hoe was discovered.

This is among the incidences of killings that have marred the media in the recent past with most of them being committed over slight disagreements between the offender and their victims.
