Taylor Swift has officially confirmed what fans had long been suspecting — she is contributing an original song to Disney and Pixar’s upcoming Toy Story 5.

The Grammy-winning singer announced on Monday that she wrote a track titled “I Knew It, I Knew You” for the highly anticipated animated film, set for release later this year.

“It’s a Toy Story 😌 You knew it! My new original song ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ for Disney and @pixar’s @toystory 5 will be yours on June 5th,” Swift wrote on Instagram.

In her post, the 36-year-old star said the collaboration was deeply personal, noting her lifelong connection to the beloved franchise.

“I have always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I have adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first ‘Toy Story’ movie,” she wrote.

Swift added that she was immediately inspired after an early screening of the film.

“I fell instantly in love with ‘Toy Story 5’ when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”

She also confirmed that the song will be available for pre-order exclusively through her website, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on June 19.

Alongside the announcement, Swift shared images of herself surrounded by flowers, as well as cover art teasers for different versions of the song, including original, piano, and acoustic editions.

She later promoted three collector’s edition CDs via Instagram Stories, each featuring “unique vocals and production.”

Swift’s announcement came after weeks of fan speculation, with Swifties convinced she had been dropping hints.

In April, she briefly launched a Toy Story-themed countdown on her website, featuring a blue sky and white cloud design reminiscent of the Pixar franchise. The page was live for only 10 minutes before disappearing.

Shortly after, fans also pointed out that Swift’s New York City outfit — a blue-and-white striped dress paired with red heels and a yellow bag — appeared to subtly reference the film’s signature color palette.

“If Taylor announces an original song for Toy Story 5, the internet might actually break,” one fan posted at the time, calling a Disney-Swift collaboration a “dream combo.”

Eagle-eyed fans also noted additional “Easter eggs,” including Swift wearing an opal ring previously associated with Elizabeth Taylor, whom she references on her Life of a Showgirl album.

While Swift’s team did not publicly comment on earlier speculation, the official confirmation has now set social media ablaze.
