7 Dead, 29 Injured In Horrid Eldoret-Nakuru Highway Accident

7 dead (3 adults and 4 children) and 29 others injured in a terrible road accident that occurred near Timboroa along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway at 5 am on Thursday.

The accident occurred when a Crown bus which was heading to Kakamega from Mombasa rammed into a trailer.

The bodies were taken to Mercy Mission hospital while the injured were taken to various hospitals in Eldoret according to statement by Koibatek OCPD Agnes Kamau.

She said the bus driver was overtaking another vehicle on a foggy section of the road. The trailer driver reportedly tried to avoid a head on collision but the bus was over speeding.

“We are advising drivers that the with the heavy rains currently the roads are slippery and foggy in some areas and they should reduce speed and keep distance from the next vehicle to avoid such accidents”, said Kamau.
