At least four people were by Sunday nursing arrow injuries following intense skirmishes along the troubled Kiango border flashpoint dividing Transmara West (Narok County) and Bomachoge Borabu (Kisii).

The four were rushed to various hospitals in Magena and Kisii town for treatment.

By late Sunday, armed youth were squaring it out in the open fields even as security chiefs from both sides were meeting in Kiango township to hammer out a peace deal.

No fatality was reported by Sunday afternoon.

Villagers said a spate of cattle rustling incidents between the two the Masai and Kisii had sparked the fresh tiff Saturday .

At least two cows stolen from a home deep inside the Machoge side on Friday night ignited the two battles now stretching into the second day.

A journalist at the scene said hoofprints from the suspected stolen cattle directed the youth from Kisii side to Transmara side.

They were, however, not given audience by elders from Transmara resulting in the ongoing battle the villagers had reported .

“Currently as we speak, the youth are fighting, thr security meeting is also underway to try to resolve the matter,” said Isaiah Maobe by phone .

The joint security meeting is being coordinated between Deputy County Commissioner, Kenyenya William Bet and his counterpart from Transmara West.

“There are still sporadic skirmishes as police try to separate them,” Maobe stated.
