    KNEC Advises 2024 KCSE Candidates To Collect Result Slips

    The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has urged 2024 KCSE candidates to collect their result slips.

    In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, KNEC confirmed that the slips had been dispatched to Sub-County Directors of Education (SCDEs) across the country.

    “Schools that presented candidates for the examination are advised to liase with their SCDEs to collect their resulst slips,”the notice reads.

    A total of 962,512 candidates sat for the 2024 KCSE examination, reflecting a 7.19% increase from the 899,453 candidates in 2023. However, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba noted that the official number of registered candidates for the 2024 exam stood at 965,172, up from 903,138 in 2023.

    In terms of performance, 1,693 candidates attained an A grade, accounting for 0.18% of the total candidates. A total of 246,391 candidates scored C+ and above, representing 25.53%, while 476,889 candidates secured a C- and above, making up 49.41%. The number of students scoring D+ and above stood at 605,774, translating to 62.76%, while 48,333 candidates received an E grade.

    Several subjects recorded an improvement in performance compared to previous years. These included Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and General Science.
