How To Draw A Parrot

Drawing a parrot is a fun and colorful activity for kids and beginners. Parrots are known for their bright feathers, curved beaks, and playful personalities. With a few simple steps, you can create your own parrot sitting on a branch or flying in the sky. Here’s a guide on how to draw a parrot.

Step 1: Draw the Head and Body

Start with the parrot’s head by drawing a small circle near the top of your page. Then, below the head, draw a larger oval shape tilted slightly sideways. This will be the parrot’s body. Connect the head and body with a short curved line for the neck.

Step 2: Draw the Beak

Parrots have a strong, curved beak. Draw a hook-like shape coming out of the front of the head. Start with a small upper curve and then add a short lower curve underneath it for the bottom part of the beak.

Step 3: Add the Eye

Inside the head, draw a small circle for the eye. You can color the center black and leave a tiny white dot to make the eye look shiny. If you want, you can add a small line above the eye to look like an eyebrow for expression.

Step 4: Draw the Wings

On the side of the body, draw a long curved shape going down—that’s the wing. You can make it look like feathers by adding a few small curves at the bottom of the wing. You can also draw the other wing peeking from the other side.

Step 5: Add the Tail

At the bottom of the parrot’s body, draw long pointed shapes for the tail feathers. Parrots usually have bright, long tails. Make three or four pointed feathers coming out from behind.

Step 6: Draw the Feet and Branch (Optional)

To draw your parrot sitting, add two small feet under the body using short curved lines with tiny claws. Then, draw a horizontal line or branch beneath the feet to make it look like the parrot is perched.

Step 7: Outline and Color

Use a black pen or marker to outline your drawing. Erase any extra pencil lines. Now it’s time to color! Parrots come in many colors like green, red, blue, yellow, and orange. Use bright shades to make your parrot stand out.
