Dortmund Seal €27m Deal For Wolves Striker Fabio Silva

Borussia Dortmund have completed a deal to sign Portuguese striker Fabio Silva from Wolves for €22.5 million (Sh3.4 billion) plus €4 million (Sh600 million) in add-ons, bringing the total package to nearly €27 million (Sh4.1 billion).

The 23-year-old forward has agreed personal terms and is set to undergo his medical in Germany on Thursday. Dortmund are pushing to have him ready for their Bundesliga clash with Union Berlin on Sunday.

Silva bid farewell to his Wolves teammates on Tuesday night after their Carabao Cup win over West Ham, with the club confirming his move. Roma and AC Milan had also shown interest, but Dortmund moved swiftly to seal the transfer.

The German giants have been busy strengthening their attack this summer, already signing Chelsea duo Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino, Manchester City full-back Yan Couto, and Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland.

Silva, who cost Wolves a record €40 million (Sh6.2 billion) when he joined from Porto in 2020, struggled to make a lasting impact in England. However, he revived his form during loan spells at Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers, and Las Palmas, where he scored 10 goals last season.

He leaves Wolves having made 72 appearances, scoring five goals and registering six assists. Despite limited success in the Premier League, Silva is seen as a player with both potential and European experience. He has also represented Portugal at youth level and made one senior appearance for the national team.

He could make his Dortmund debut this weekend against Union Berlin.
