    James Wanjigi Retires From Carbacid After 49 Years As Director

    Jimmy Wanjigi’s father, James Maina Wanjigi has retired as a director of his company, Carbacid Investiments Plc.

    The company announced the retirement through a public notice on the local dailies.

    “Carbacid Investiments plc announces that Hon J M Wanjigi a director of Carbacid opted not to offer himself for re-election at the Annual General Meeting held on 11th December 2018. Accordingly, he ceased to be a director of the company and his subsidiaries,” announced N P Kothari, the company secretary.

    Wanjigi has been a director of the company since its inception in July 1970. He served as the chairman of the company from December 2001 to December 2016.

    Carbacid is a manufacturing and investment company in Kenya. The company manufactures and markets carbon dioxide gas for food processing, industrial use and medical use as well as dry ice. It also tests and validates gas cylinders.

    At the same time, the company announced the appointment of Eng Edward Achieng Musebe as an independent non-executive director of the company.

    Musebe holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Masters in strategic Management, currently pursuing his doctorate studies in Strategic management.

    He has worked as managing director of Chemilil Sugar and Amloy Engineering Ltd. He also worked at Unga Ltd, East African Cables Ltd, East African Breweries Ltd, Glass Division and Magadi Soda..

    Currently he is the general manager at African Diatomite Industries Ltd.
