    Suspected Al-shabaab Militants Attack Village In Mandera

    One Kenya Police Reserve (KPR) officer has been reported injured and his gun stolen by suspected As-shabaab militants who attacked Hareri hosle village near Mandera town early today.

    According to Voice of America (VOA) journalist Harun Maruf, local residents reported heavy gunfire in the area.

    “Al-Shabaab militants have launched an attack on the village of Xariiro Hoofle (possible I misspelled location), near Mandera town in the early hours of Sunday. Local residents have reported a heavy gunfire. Still trying to get more information about casualties,” tweeted Mr Maruf.

    The attackers are said to have raided a store in the village and made away with food stuff and torches.

    The police are yet to issue an official report concerning the attack.
