On Saturday, Kenya recorded 511 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the country’s case load to 243,456, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed. In a statement, the CS said the cases were from a sample size of 6,434 recording a positivity rate of 7.9 per cent. The cumulative tests stand at 2,450,791. 10 people have been arrested for allegedly siphoning fuel at a godown on Rangwe Road. The adulterated fuel syndicate was busted with 25,000 litres of fuel in an operation led by Makadara Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss Steven Mutua. Speaking to the Nation, Makadara police boss Timon Odingo said the officers were acting on information provided by members of the public. Detectives from the Special Service Unit (SSU) have arrested a man believed to be behind the murder of three men in Kilifi on July 7. The suspect, Robert Mganga, was flushed out of his hideout at Ambuja Court, in Tassia’s Fedha Estate on Friday. DCI detectives have recovered Sh60 million in fake US dollars at a transport logistics facility located along Lusaka Road, Industrial Area. Kisii county has recorded a spike in suicide cases in the last three months, a police report has shown. According to county police commander Francis Kooli, fourteen people have taken their own lives in the last three months. Of the said number, 13 were males. 10 cases were recorded in August and three in July. In September, one person has died. Mr Kooli mentioned that Kisii Central recorded the highest number with nine cases, followed by Gucha South (three), Kisii South (two), Kenyenya and Sameta with one each. Two police officers are in custody after allegedly attempting to steal from a civilian in Dagoretti, Nairobi. The officers; Inspector Evans Soita and Constable John Kemboi, both attached to Spring Valley Police Station, are said to have tried to steal from Stephen Kamotho Kinyanjui on Wednesday morning. Godfrey Gachoka Gitau is said to have died after his 2006 Nissan Altima veered off the road hitting a guardrail. The deceased, 35, was ejected from him car during the 4 am incident. Two people suspected of administering fake Covid-19 vaccine have been arrested and charged. The duo, Wallace Mugendi and Kenneth Mukundi, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly giving patients what is believed to have been a fake Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
