A man who sued Safaricom will be required to bear the cost of the suit after the case was dismissed by the court. Chrisogonas Odero, who lives in the United States, had sued Safaricom after he became a victim of Sim-swap fraud. Odero moved to court seeking to compel Safaricom Limited to refund Sh200 which he used to purchase a replacement card and Sh4,110 which he used to courier the card to the US. Telkom Kenya has rolled out a Sh1,500 monthly mobile data package that will allow users to share the internet with up to five other subscribers. In its quest to grow revenues, Telkom Kenya will award 100GB of mobile data for the package dubbed Changa bundle. Customers will then be able to set up groups and share the data with between three and five other  customers. The Kenya Revenue Authority collected Sh324.81 billion more in tax revenue in the 11 months through May than in the same period last fiscal year, according to Treasury data. This was partly made possible by the taxman’s strategy to monitor Kenyan’s internet activities. Last year, KRA announced that it would start monitoring Kenyans’ social media activities with the intention of capturing tax evaders. Police Officers have been warned against using social media while in Uniform. Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai warned officers who had adopted the trend of posting on social media sites, especially TikTok. He said the practice was depicting the force police service in a negative light. Mutyambai also added that it is against the service standing orders for Police to make posts while in uniform. Microsoft Teams Users will soon be able to play games during meetings. The tech giant is reportedly working on bringing casual games such as Solitaire, Wordament and Connect4 to the app. This will allow colleagues to play the casual games amongst each other and enhance the value of meetings, especially in cases where a company is holding long meetings with casual breaks. The move follows the adoption of remote and hybrid work models by several corporations long after the Covid-19 pandemic. Telegram is rolling out its premium subscription service a few weeks after announcing its development. The new option will allow users to pay a monthly fee of $4.99 (Sh585) to use the messaging service. The Police have now weighed in on the issue surrounding the authenticity of Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja’s university degree. Police in Nyamira are probing an incident where a man at a Microfinance firm assaulted another. In a video that has since gone viral, a person who has been identified as a supervisor of Jirani Smart is seen assaulting one of the employees. Five Homa Bay County officials have been fined Sh59.044 million after they were found guilty of embezzling Sh27.8 million. Former assembly clerk Bob Kephers, former Finance chief officer Carolyne Sang’, former majority leader Michael Owino Ooro, former minority leader Isaac Nyandege and former assembly finance controller Maurice Amek were sentenced on Friday after the Anti-corruption court found them guilty of obtaining the money illegally. The taxi app is set to unveil an option for users looking to use the Nairobi Expressway and a new feature that will allow drivers to pick the areas they wish to operate from and drop passengers. The Commission for University Education (CUE) is now demanding at least 10 documents to ascertain that Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja indeed attended Team University in Uganda. The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority’s (KEMSA) has adopted a new inventory management policy with an aim of enhancing its organizational integrity and efficiency. Through the new policy, the KEMSA board plans to ensure adherence to optimal stock holding levels and see the Authority’s stockholding exposure reduced from Kshs 14 billion to Kshs 9 billion worth of health products and technologies (HPT) inventories. Huawei has maintained its patenting pole position globally due to the total number of its 5G Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), according to Clarivate, a leading global IP consultancy, and analytics firm.
