I lost Idd Salim and I just heard that Idd was gone through Twitter. Idd died in September 2013 after a short illness. He was a friend who needed to talk to me. A new manager was joining the iHub and Idd wanted the manager asked 5 specific questions. Idd called me and I told him that I would call him back as I was busy doing many…

There’s this overzealous and desperate TNA defender that has gone rogue. He was one time on the Standard’s Sat pull-out ‘Madd Madd World’ of November 23rd 2013. Paying lump sums to accompany the president, despite his broke company and self. Rogue! The same party and ideologies that he helped craft, are the same ones he’s strongly been fighting. Why? His appointment in any government position isn’t foreseeable as he hoped. And this is making hime try desperately to catch the attention of the President with all manner of claims and conspiracy theories he spins. Moses Kuria was once rumoured to be taking…
Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru wanted to have sex with former Youth Fund boss Evans Gor Semelango. According to senior OP officials, Anne Waiguru was so jealous of Evans Gor Semelang’o’s closeness to Citizen TV’s Janet Mbugua that she once told Evans at a private meeting that she thinks that “it is unethical for Civil Servants” to sleep with media professionals. Gor did not make sense of her statement but the views of Madam Waiguru were reinforced by one senior OP official who sent an SMS to Gor informing him in Luo, “nyakoni dwaro ni mondo iliet okonge. Obiro riembi…
Nation Media is not good at innovation. It is very good at copying and it doesn’t end up well sometime. First they tried to respond to the then Nairobi Star with The Daily Metro. That didn’t end well forcing them to confess that the model didn’t work out. It seems that the same fate has befallen Nairobi News. The media house has just informed all its staff that it will be closing the tabloid which was to target the Nairobi residents as it is affecting the company’s bottom-line without any prospects of it making an impact in the gossip market…
Dr Anne Waiguru is making all changes she wants in the govt and she claims that she need not consult anyone including the President. The god lady who is known to be close to President Uhuru and even said to have kids looking like the President, sacked Jasper Kiplimo Rugut and replaced him with Dr Nelson Githinji who is a former State House comptroller. Sources close to Kiplimo Rugut reveal that the former PC was sent an SMS directing him to stay away from the NYS HQs as he has been replaced. The change means that now the top 3…
A gang attacked former Mungiki boss Maina Njenga’s church in Nakuru on Sunday 4th May. Maina was having an interview with some journalists when one of his minders whispered on his ears then he took off without uttering a word. The journalist who was taken to the former Mungiki boss was left confused before being told by the Helicopter Ministries boss Bishop Thomas Wahome that Maina had been kidnapped by Mungiki adherents. Bishop Wahome asked the journalist to leave the premises before things get bad. It was later reported that 3 members of the church were killed by panga wielding gangs…
Former Naivasha MP and current NACADA chairman, John Mututho, owns an FM station called Mururi FM which broadcasts in Kikuyu on 107.3FM. Most of the employees have run away but around 10 – 3 presenters, 3 interns, an HR person, an IT person and 2 security guys – are the only remaining employees. The station which is managed by Mututho’s son Njenga is currently operating on backup after its main transmission in Nairobi…
We once tweeted that Alice Odera who was then a TV host at Citizen TV never went to New York University or any other university nor did all those things she claimed that she did. She was a fraud who Royal Media HR couldn’t do due diligence on. Well, KQ has today discovered that Alice Odera was a stripper in New York and was deported from USA after the authorities discovered some ugly things she was doing. After working for Citizen TV, Alice got a job at KQ without any papers. She always promised to deliver the papers which she claimed…

“Before you are taken as either an intern or full employee, you are asked a million and one questions. But among all these, I was asked if am a virgin. Even though I won’t tell you my answer because it is either YES/NO, I found it to be beyond minimum qualifications. “These are the exact words of June, (not her real name), an intern at ATG (Around The Globe Radio). Whilst it is true that a gospel radio station should be a pacesetter in moral standards among its staff, virginity cannot and should not used to gauge one’s qualifications. How is…
There is seem to be a problem at the renowned Kenya Institute of Mass Communication, (KIMC) located in Nairobi’s South B. As things are, the standards of the government-owned institute, which has dominated media training in the country for decades could be headed into the first/lower percentile or quartile for those who’ve been to a basic statistics class. Here, getting results transcripts takes ages, and now some former students (who graduated in November last year), are finding it hard to secure jobs because employers are asking for transcripts, which are nowhere. “I have been coming here since January, but I…
