President Donald Trump has withdrawn all support for Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a firebrand conservative who long supported Trump’s agenda but recently criticised several of his policies. Trump said in a nearly 300-word social media post that the Georgia lawmaker had gone “far left”, and called for her to be unseated in next year’s midterm election by a Republican challenger. The falling out comes after Greene questioned whether Trump was still putting “America First” on his agenda. She criticised his focus on foreign policy and handling of Jeffrey Epstein files. Greene said Trump was lashing out to try and…

US President Donald Trump said Friday he wants the Justice Department and FBI to investigate links between the late alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and former Democratic president Bill Clinton. Republican Trump accused rival Democrats of “using the Epstein Hoax” to distract from the party’s recent compromise to end a record US government shutdown, and said the scandal involved “Democrats, not Republicans.”…

Google has said it will appeal the fine. “Our proposal fully addresses the decision without a disruptive break-up that would harm…

President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Friday South Africa will symbolically hand over the G20 presidency to an “empty chair” in the absence of U.S. leadership at the summit next week, while stressing the need to repair trade ties with Washington. Trump has said that refugee admissions to the U.S. this year will…

US investment group RedBird Capital has pulled out of a deal to buy the Daily and Sunday Telegraph for £500m. RedBird had a previous attempt to buy the Telegraph rebuffed by politicians as it was majority-funded by Abu Dhabi’s IMI group – which is owned in turn by the Abu Dhabi royal family. A law change meant that foreign sovereign wealth funds could take a maximum stake of 15% in newspapers or periodicals. The new bid complied with that rule, but it is understood that the government intended to submit the deal to regulatory review. A spokesman for the group…
