A new twist took place Friday after the Ministry of Health stopped the forced leave of the Chief Executive Officer of Kenyatta University Hospital, Ahmed Dagane. This came hours after the hospital’s board had on Thursday written to Dagane asking him to proceed on leave until further notice. A Nairobi court Friday ordered the proprietor of Savannah Clinker Company Benson Sande Ndeta to remain in custody until Monday December 2 when a ruling whether to be released on bond in connection with a Sh700 million fraud and forgery at the company. Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa was summoned by police for grilling over the chaos that were witnessed at a burial event in Limuru, Kiambu County. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was present at the event and escaped unhurt. His cars were however damaged. An Ethiopian national was found with gunshot wounds after an attack by unknown gunman in Moyale Town near the main Kenya-Ethiopia border. The incident happened Thursday morning, police said. The victim who identified himself as Aftamu Walaga, 35 was found lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds on the chest. The victim was rushed to Moyale sub-county referral hospital where he was admitted in critical condition. A Danish national starved to death in his house in Kilimani area, Nairobi. The family and friends of Kim Nissen Petersen, 62 said he had also suffered a heart failure. He then refused to eat or seek medical attention for days before he was found dead on November 26 at his apartment. Canada’s Competition Bureau is suing Google for alleged anti-competitive conduct in its online advertising. In a statement, the country’s antitrust watchdog alleged Google had illegally linked two advertising tools to maintain market supremacy and used this dominant position to distort ad auctions by preferring its own tools. The Nairobi Expressway made a loss of Sh1.2 billion in the past financial year, underscoring the risk in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) as an alternative to traditional financing models.  Data from the Treasury shows that the expressway generated revenue worth Sh4.6 billion from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, compared to the operational costs totalling Sh5.8 billion.
