Police have recovered bags of rice that had been stolen from the National Cereal and Produce Board (NCPB) go downs in Makupa area, Mombasa. The bags of Premium Pakistan Long Grain packaged in 25 kilograms bags were stolen on April 7 from the stores. The bags were recovered in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area where merchants planned to sell them on Wednesday April 10. This was after unknown people broke there on that night. Police have concluded Kisii teacher who also blogged Duke Nyabaro died by suicide. An autopsy done on the body on Monday concluded strangulation caused the death. And after reviewing the deceased’s last movements before he was found dead, detectives handling the matter concluded he hanged himself. Hamas’s political leader Ismail Haniyeh confirmed that three of his sons and four of his grandchildren were killed in an air strike in Gaza.  Hamas-linked media said the car his sons were travelling in was hit in Al-Shati camp near Gaza City. Haniyeh said that the incident would not change Hamas’s demands in talks aimed at reaching a ceasefire deal. Israel’s military said the sons were members of Hamas’s military wing. Three suspects linked to a daylight robbery and shooting in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area were found dead. The shooting and robbery took place March 30 and about Sh3.9 million was stolen. A victim of the robbery is still in hospital with a spinal injury. The bodies of Fredrick Kopo, Jaylen Kibe and one woman only identified as Esther were found at the City Mortuary on Sunday. A man who murdered his baby son has been jailed for at least 22 years. Michael Davis’s son, Ollie Davis, was found unresponsive at home in Beaumont Leys, Leicester, in 2017 – the four-week-old had suffered a broken neck in addition to dozens of other injuries. Ollie’s mother, Kayleigh Driver, was found guilty of causing or allowing the death of a child and causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical injury. She was jailed for seven years. A firearm that was violently robbed from the Officer Commanding Vihiga Police Station when a criminal gang attacked him while on patrol on December 21, 2023 was recovered in Mwiki, Kasarani sub-county. US President Joe Biden has said he believes that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is making a “mistake” in his handling of Gaza. “I think what he’s doing is a mistake. At least two people were killed in an attack by al Shabaab militants in Milhoi area, Lamu County.  The terrorists also burnt two vehicles; canter and pick up, as they fled the scene of the attack, police said. The incident happened on Tuesday after the gang raided the village. They first killed two people who officials said were a driver and his turn boy before they fled the area. Former South African President Jacob Zuma won a court bid to overturn his disqualification from running for parliament in next month’s election on the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe Party’s ticket. Unions representing public health workers in the country have issued a seven day strike notice after which all members will go on strike as from 16th of April 2024. The prosecution plans to amend the charge sheet to include more charges against Somali national Abdihakim Saidi Jama.  Jama is facing charges at a Milimani court where he was charged on July 11, 2023 before principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul of allegedly obtaining registration by false pretense contrary to section 320 of the Penal Code.
