Tragedy struck a village when three members of a family were electrocuted after they touched a metallic line that had been used for hanging in Homa Bay County. Karen Police Station Commander Purity Kobia was Friday arrested by detectives from the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) for allegedly stealing and auctioning a motor vehicle that had been detained at her station. A former student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology Victor Kibet who went missing last month is alive.  He was dropped off the road in Juja, Kiambu County by his suspected abductors who gave him money for a motorcycle home. His father Paul Mutai said he called him Friday to say he is well. He was dropped off in Juja at night on Friday. He was abducted on March 18 from the same area. The Council of Governors wants the 2017 CBA between the doctors union- Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU) and the government relooked into.  CoG claims it contains components that are not only difficult to implement but unreasonable. According to Council of Governors Health Committee chairperson and Tharaka Nithi governor Muthomi Njuki, 95 percent of doctors have individual contracts with each of the 47 counties, and thus their continued stay in the streets is unwarranted. At least two people were Saturday morning killed and 10 others seriously injured after a bus they were travelling in was involved in a road accident at Muguga area in Kikuyu, Kiambu County. New York’s police department is to pay $17.5m (£14m) in a class action case led by two Muslim women who were forced to remove their hijabs while having mugshots taken. The 2018 case argued that Jamilla Clark and Arwa Aziz suffered violations of religious freedom and privacy. Lawyers say more than 3,600 people are eligible for pay-outs under the deal. Facebook and Instagram giant Meta on Friday said it will begin labeling AI-generated media beginning in May, as it tries to reassure users and governments over the risks of deepfakes.
