Two suspected Al Shabaab terrorists charged with planning to bomb the Milimani Law Courts in 2018 were Tuesday found guilty. Abadi Majit Hassan Adan and Mohammed Osman Nane were convicted of nine counts related to the act. Senior Principal Magistrate Zainabu Abdul found the two guilty of possessing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) including seven projectile bombs to commit a terrorist act. British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s deal to buy a 25% stake in Manchester United has been approved by the Premier League. The deal, worth about $1.3bn (£1.03bn), is still subject to Football Association approval. Owners the Glazer family will retain a majority stake in the club but Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group will take control of football operations. The House of Representatives narrowly voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, making him the first cabinet member to face impeachment in nearly 150 years. Many Republicans blame Mr Mayorkas for an unprecedented influx of migrants at the US-Mexico border. Access Bank, one of Nigeria’s largest banks, has appointed a temporary replacement for CEO Herbert Wigwe, who died alongside five others in a helicopter crash last Friday. Bolaji Agbede, Access Bank’s most senior founding executive director, will assume the CEO position in acting capacity, the bank’s parent company, Access Holdings Plc, announced in a statement. Ms Agbede joined Access Bank in 2003 and has nearly 30 years of experience in banking and business consultancy, the company said. Most public servants with forged academic documents are in the Ministry of Interior, the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) and the Geothermal and Development Corporation, a parastatal under the Ministry of Energy.  The Public Service Commission (PSC) revealed Tuesday that there are some public servants in critical government parastatals who acquired their positions using fake certificates. The High Court has extended orders barring the government from demanding that parents pay school fees through e-Citizen platform. Justice Chacha Mwita on Tuesday ruled that the government would not be prejudiced by the orders. The court will hear the matter on April 17. The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) have been enjoined in the matter as interested parties. Nyanza region got a new Regional Police Commander after the retirement of Manasse Musyoka.  Former commandant of Kenya Police Railways and Ports Commandant Patrick Tito took over as the new RPC in the changes announced by Inspector General of police Japhet Koome. The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is searching for a lion that locals claim was killed in Maasai Mara Reserve by pastoralists. Olobor, a lion that belongs to the ‘Black Rock Pride’ is missing. According to KWS, Intelligence and Investigation teams responded to the reports by visiting the scene, but no evidence was recovered to support the allegations. “KWS tasked the top management of the reserve together with ‘Mara Predators’- a research team whose work is monitoring lions to look for Olobor,” KWS said in a statement on Monday evening. Detectives arrested a brother to fugitive murder suspect Kevin Kinyanjui Kang’ethe for questioning over his escape from police custody. Brian Kinyanjui was arrested alongside his girlfriend on Monday evening for grilling. This is after it emerged they may have met Kang’ethe after he escaped from Muthaiga police station on February 7 evening. They are persons of interest in the case where Kang’ethe is wanted for murder in the USA escaped from a lawful custody, police said. Police are looking for a gang that broke into Mitaboni Boys High School offices in Machakos County and stole cash and equipment. The incident happened Monday morning, the school administration said. Police said six unknown assailants alleged to be wearing jungle clothes resembling police uniforms, masks, gloves, and boots gained entry into the school compound through an unknown point armed with an axe and a metallic bar. President Joe Biden’s campaign has joined TikTok, despite the app being banned on most US government devices over security concerns. His campaign launched its account with the username “@bidenhq” during the Super Bowl on Sunday. Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba flew to Eldoret and viewed the body of athlete Kelvin Kiptum and his coach who died in a road accident on Sunday night.  Kiptum, 24, was the men’s marathon world record holder and he was killed alongside his coach, Rwanda’s Gervais Hakizimana, in a car on a road in Kaptagat, Elgeyo Marakwet County.
