Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has stepped in to support a minor who was allegedly harassed by a county inspectorate official. In a statement on Wednesday, Sakaja said the boy has since been identified as 14-year-old Burundi national Ndagire Renova. Ndagire shot to the limelight on Tuesday after he was caught on video crying with his roasted peanuts on the ground. The boy was selling peanuts in the CBD in contravention of the County’s Street vending guidelines. A popular honey-based sexual enhancement supplement Therma Epimedyumlu Macun is no longer available for purchase or distribution, the government has announced. The product, referred to as “Asali ya Wazee,” is being sold in Kenya and is said to have sexual enhancement qualities. The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) announced on Tuesday that the product has been banned due to significant adulteration with high levels of a conventional active pharmaceutical ingredient called sildenafil, which is prescribed to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and erectile dysfunction. Malaria, a potentially deadly disease caused by a mosquito-borne parasite, is making inroads into the US. Five new cases of malaria — one in Texas and four in Florida — are alarming officials because they were locally acquired, meaning a mosquito in the US was carrying the parasite. Police are investigating the death of two people whose bodies were found in a bar at Salgaa Trading Center in Nakuru County. There were running battles between police and some locals on Tuesday evening following the incident. The protesters stoned police who were removing the bodies. The exchange went on for an hour before the second body was removed.  The men are believed to have died after consumption of illicit brew, police and locals said. OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman will return as CEO just days after he was fired by the board, the firm said. The agreement “in principle” involves a new board being installed, the tech company added. South African lawmakers voted on Tuesday in favour of closing down the Israeli embassy in Pretoria and suspending all diplomatic relations until a ceasefire is agreed in its war with Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in Gaza. A special squad sent from Nairobi killed two of the suspects who killed a police officer and injured another one before robbing them of their rifles were Wednesday morning near the Kenya-Uganda border. They were killed in Awinga area in Alego Usonga. They had moved from Wanga Hills near the border to the area where they were confronted, police said. The two stolen from the police officers-an AK47 rifle and an MP5 with 60 bullets were recovered, Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin said told the media. The hunt for suspected thugs who killed a police officer injured another one before robbing them of their rifles has been extended to the Kenya-Uganda border. At least 37 people died in a stampede during an army recruitment drive at a stadium in Congo-Brazzaville, the government has said. People tried to force their way through the stadium’s gates in the capital, Brazzaville, causing the stampede, residents have been quoted as saying. Last week, the army announced plans to recruit about 1,500 people between the ages of 18 and 25. Many were injured in Monday night’s crush, a government statement said.
