Police shot and killed a man on Friday in Kimana area, Kajiado County, after he clobbered two people to death. Police said he used a hammer to kill the two in a dramatic rampage in the village. Police and locals said the assailant also attacked the police before trying to escape using a police vehicle that had arrived at the scene. He was felled by police few meters away. Sudan informed the UN chief of the “immediate” end of the United Nations political mission in the war-torn country, according to a letter circulated in the Security Council. Kenyans will starting March 2024 enjoy lower calling rates following a drop in Mobile Termination Rates (MTRs) and Fixed Termination Rates (FTRs) by the Communications Authority. MTRs and FTRs are the costs that operators charge each other to allow customers to communicate across networks. “In the latest review, the Authority has capped Mobile Termination Rates and fixed termination rates at Sh0.41 per minute with effect from March 1, 2024. An armed suspect opened fire in the lobby of a psychiatric hospital in New Hampshire, killing a security guard, before an officer returned fire, killing the attacker, police said. Officials said the suspect was “immediately engaged and shot” dead by an officer assigned to the hospital. The police officer was not hurt. Police have not identified the attacker or a motive. The Tanzanian government confirmed the death of a student taken hostage in the Hamas attack on Israel. Clemence Felix Mtenga, 22, was one of two Tanzanians taken by the group on 7 October. Former Narok Member of County Assembly (MCA) Stephen Kudate sensationally claimed that Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya chased him out of their matrimonial home in Kileleshwa, Nairobi when she was appointed to office. A police officer has been arrested after attempting to rob an M-Pesa shop in Ruiru, Kiambu County. According to a police report, the incident happened at 10:30 am Friday when Nahashon Ekidor Namese stormed Quick Call Solutions shop that is located near Equity Bank. Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has directed Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to suspend 67 police officers over alleged graft. IBM suspended advertising on X, formerly known as Twitter, after a report said its ads were placed next to posts praising Adolf Hitler and Nazism.
