Guinea’s former military ruler, Moussa Dadis Camara, is back in jail after being taken from prison by armed men, according to his lawyer. The group stormed a jail in the capital, Conakry, early on Saturday morning – taking Capt Camara and three others. Those taken are currently on trial for their alleged roles in deaths of more than 150 people in a 2009 protest. Besides Capt Camara, two other prisoners have also been found. US President Joe Biden visited Maine to meet community members personally affected by a mass shooting that left 18 people dead. The attack at a bowling alley and bar in the town of Lewiston on 25 October also left 13 people injured. All fights to and from Hamburg Airport have been halted as of early Sunday morning local time, as German police attempt to “relieve” a hostage situation at the center of a “family drama,” according to an official spokesperson for Hamburg Police. A 35-year-old man smashed through security with his car at the airport Saturday and parked underneath an airplane, the spokesperson said. As of midnight Sunday, the driver was still in his car with his 4-year old daughter, the spokesperson added. At least 157 people were killed in an earthquake that struck a remote part of northwestern Nepal overnight on Friday and toppled multiple buildings, according to police, as officials warned that the death toll could rise. The quake measured magnitude 5.6 according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and hit some 42 kilometers (about 26 miles) from Jumla, Nepal, in Karnali province. At least four workers were Saturday injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a hotel in Nairobi’s South B area.  The explosion happened at Frizzle Bites Restaurant at about 3.30pm as the staff there were busy preparing food. Some revelers who were present were injured but managed to escape the scene. Several vehicles parked around the restaurant were damaged in the incident. Police confirmed the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder that was apparently in use at the hotel. The explosion also caused used damages at the restaurant. Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has demanded an explanation into the alleged exaggeration of salaries by the National Treasury. Edwin Wawire Wafula claims the legislator physically and verbally attacked him over a case he is handling on behalf of another party. Gunmen stormed the main prison in Guinea’s capital early Saturday and freed former dictator Moussa “Dadis” Camara, the country’s justice minister said.  Authorities announced the closure of the West African nation’s borders. At least six people were killed following heavy downpours witnessed in different parts of the country. Many others were displaced as the meteorological department warned of more rains in many parts of the country. At least 417 suspected stolen mobile phones were recovered in Nyeri and a 32-year-old man arrested in connection with the theft.  The recovery and arrest followed interrogations on two young men earlier arrested by Nyeri detectives, after they were cornered while snatching mobile phones from shoppers in Gatitu, Nyeri, police said. Israel has rebuffed US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s call for a “humanitarian pause” in Gaza.
