A woman who had been arrested in the probe into the murder of Nairobi Hospital finance boss Eric Maigo was Monday set free. A controversial Kenyan car dealer was arrested with four kilograms of cocaine, estimated to be worth around Sh24 million at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, Sir Lanka. Police are investigating an incident in which a 25-year-old man was punched to death in a fight over a missing mobile phone in a bar in Mlolongo, Machakos County. The deceased Ezekiel Muthomi succumbed to the injuries in the hospital after a fight with his friend. The two were in a bar in the area when the friend known to the deceased accused him of stealing his mobile phone, witnesses and police said. An eight-storey building under construction collapsed Sunday night in Mirema Drive area, Nairobi. Police said no injuries were reported after the structure went down at about 10 pm. It is not clear what caused the collapse. Search and rescue teams visited the scene on Monday to check if there was anyone trapped under the rubbles. A truck transporting Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) overturned at Kipsitet bridge along the Kericho-Kisumu Highway. The driver escaped with injuries after the truck veered off the road before exploding into a ball of fire. Eyewitnesses said the truck appeared to have experienced brake failure. According to the police, the truck which was headed to Kisumu was descending a steep stretch of highway when the driver lost control, and landed in a ditch.
