The body of a 26-year-old man who drowned at the Gicheru Water Falls in Kirinyaga County was Thursday retrieved. Gichugu Sub-County Police Commander Edward Ndirangu said the body of Fidel Omondi Otieno was retrieved Thursday evening at around 6:30 pm by local divers in collaboration with police officers and the residents. Police and the military are investigating the death of a corporal at the Kenya Defence Forces whose body was found in a changing room at the Defence Staff College, Karen, Nairobi. Other soldiers said they found the body of Corporal Marceline Ogutu at the college changing room after a suspected collapse. Kenya’s largest telecommunications company Safaricom has increased M-Pesa transactions limit to Sh250,000 for each transaction. A majority of Kenyans support the establishment of the Office of Leader of Opposition, a poll by Trends and Insights For Africa (Tifa) shows. At least 462 al-Shabaab members were killed last weekend in Somalia, Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) said. This happened during an attempted ambush at a military base controlled by the Ethiopian troops serving in the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). On Wednesday, ENDF recounted the last weekend incident in southern Somalia, in which al-Shabaab claimed to have killed over 178 Ethiopian soldiers in an ambush.
